Gemma Ridley

Ethos: To exercise with enjoyment is the best way to work out, it shouldn’t be a chore.

Gemma has always been a keen sportsperson. Her career in health and fitness began in 2002 in Thailand where she lived for several years in her early twenties managing a Thai Boxing school for tourists.

Boxing was always a passion and she specialises in personal training sessions incorporating boxing as a means of toning, weight loss, stress-relief and self-confidence.

She has also worked extensively with Powerplate (vibration training), completed both Outbox courses with World Heavyweight Champion boxer David Haye and is a qualified ABA (Amateur Boxing Association) Assistant Coach. 

She was the first female trainer of recreational boxing classes at Islington Boxing Club from 2008 and continued her affiliation with the club until her relocation from London in 2016. Whilst there she successfully set up Women’s Only Fitness and High Intensity classes.

Gemma is dedicated to helping women on their health and fitness journeys, whatever life stage they are at.  In her workouts Gemma focuses on core strength and stability and uses bodyweight and resistance exercises in addition to boxing padwork.  She is a huge fan of Animal Flow for strength, mobility, flexibility and mindfulness and incorporates Animal Flow movement into her bodyweight training. As a qualified sports massage therapist she pays particular attention to body alignment and safe training and also deals with rehabilitation. 

As a qualified Holistic Core Restore® Coach Gemma has particular focus for post-natal clients, including rehabilitation post birth of pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti and C-section recovery.  She is passionate in her belief that mum’s need to take time to heal and to make time for themselves to do so, even if that can only be a few minutes a week!

Jermaine Kelly

Ethos: Training is the best way to feel good all the time.

Although a ‘chunky’ child, Jermaine was always active. Inspired by his love of Bruce Lee and martial arts, he discovered boxing in his early twenties and fell in love with the sport. From the intricacie of technique to the heart and discipline required he was stimulated to shed the excess weight he had carried since youth.

The various types of training involved (weight training, bodyweight training, high intensity cardio, endurance cardio) and the necessity to healthily maintain a particular weight led Jermaine to personal training. Having become National Cruiserweight ABA Novice Champion in 2012, he decided to qualify as a personal trainer so he could pass on his knowledge and endorphin-fuelled passion for training.

Jermaine specialises in high intensity cardio circuit training, boxing for fitness and technical boxing.

He’ll push you but you’ll have fun whilst you work.
